History & Information of Chamblee, GA
Chamblee is a city located in northern DeKalb County, Georgia. It was incorporated in 1908, but its early history dates back to the mid-1850s. In 1892, it was connected to the outside world via the Seaboard Air Line Railway, which began running steam engines through the area. In 1908, the city was officially incorporated and first named Roswell Junction. It was later changed to Chamblee in honor of a local businessman and railroad official, W.D. Chamblee.
