Corydon is an unincorporated community in Platte County, Nebraska, United States. The town is located on Nebraska Highway 92, approximately 28 miles northeast of Columbus. The community was settled in the late 19th century by a group of Dutch immigrants looking for religious freedom. The town was platted in 1880 by the Nebraska State Land Office, and it is named after the capital of Indiana. The town began to grow and by the late 19th century, the town had a general store, blacksmith shop, post office, one-room school, and several homes. In the early 1900s, numerous industries were established in the area, including a creamery, wheat mill, and furniture factory. The population of Corydon peaked in the 1910 census, reaching 172 people. Corydon remains a small farming community and its main industries today are agriculture and ranching. There are several businesses in the area that cater to visitors, including a café, grocery store, and one motel.
