Speedway is an unincorporated community, located in the state of Nebraska, within Cuming County. The town was established in the late 1800's and named after the horses that the settlers raced in the area. The village has a population of approximately 200 people, and is governed by the Cuming County Board of Supervisors.
The community is primarily agricultural, with miles of corn fields interspersed with grain silos, hay bales, and stockyards. Speed Lake, the area’s main source of water, is located just outside of town, and the nearby county seat of West Point draws a lot of traffic from Speedway residents for shopping and entertainment.
