According to the 2010 census, Pendleton had a population of 215 people. The town was originally founded in 1883 by Alfred Pelton, a Civil War veteran, and named in honor of his father, Israel Pelton. The town was incorporated as a village in 1908. Pendleton is a rural community that relies primarily on agriculture for its livelihood but also has some light industry. The town features a small business district with a grocery store, bank, post office, and other services. Pendleton is part of the Douglas County and Omaha metropolitan areas.
