Plantation is a city located in the Broward County, Florida. It is the 81st most populous city in the state. As of the 2020 census, the population was 87,496.
The city began as the town of Plantation Island in 1953. The land was bought by the Lauderdale Land Company and started off as a small community of fifty homes. The town was officially incorporated on April 24, 1953 and eventually grew to become Plantation City, Florida.
