Miami, Florida, is the county seat of Miami-Dade County. Located along the southeastern coast of Florida, the city is considered part of the South Florida region. Miami is a major center for business and international trade and is known for its vibrant culture and nightlife.

Miami is thought to have been settled by Native Americans in the Miami River area for at least 2,000 years.
