History & Information About Parliament House

Parliament House is the place where the two houses of the Parliament of India, the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha, meet. It is located at the Sansad Marg in New Delhi. The building was designed by Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker, who were responsible for planning and construction of New Delhi. The construction of the Parliament House began in 1921 and it was completed in 1927. The opening ceremony was held on 18 January 1927 when the first sessions of the Central Legislative Assembly were held in the Parliament House.

The building is constructed in the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture with influences from other styles of architecture from different parts of India.
