Opp is a city located in Covington County, Alabama, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population of the city was 6,659. It is the county seat of Covington County.

The city was founded in 1906 and named for an early settler from Appalachia, Mr O.P. McCall. Opp has been known for its production of rugs and textiles since the late 19th century. It is also home to the historic Opp Public Library, which was established in 1912.

The city is located along the county line between Covington and Coffee Counties. Opp lies at the intersection of U.S. Routes 84 and 331. In addition to being near the county seat, Opp is located close to the state capital of Montgomery and the state’s only international airport – Mobile Regional Airport.

The city is served by the Opp City School System. The system consists of three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. The city is also home to Coastal Alabama Community College, part of the Alabama College System.
