Is Bamboo Bedding Worth It? A Girl’s Honest Review

I’ll admit it—I used to be a bit of a bedding skeptic. Egyptian cotton, linen, microfiber… I’ve tried them all in the hope of finding that magical, hotel-like sleep experience.

Then one day, while scrolling through late-night TikTok reviews and influencer “unboxing” videos, I stumbled across the latest buzz: bamboo bedding.

Soft. Cooling. Eco-friendly. Hypoallergenic. It almost sounded too perfect.

So, I decided to give it a try. Here’s my honest, no-fluff take after three months of sleeping, sweating, and occasionally binge-watching Netflix in my new sheets.

First Impressions: The Good Stuff

Right out of the box, the sheets felt incredibly silky—like a luxurious blend between cotton and satin. But not the slippery, synthetic kind. It’s more of a breathable softness that feels cool against the skin.

That "cooling" effect? 100% real. If you’re a hot sleeper like me, this is a major upgrade. No more tossing and flipping my pillow to find the cold side—it’s all cool.

I also noticed less irritation on my skin, especially after shaving or during allergy season. I later found out that bamboo fibres are naturally hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites. Win.

What I Didn’t Love

As much as I adore the feel, bamboo sheets do wrinkle. A lot. If you’re someone who likes crisp, smooth sheets all the time, you’ll either need to iron them or embrace the lived-in look.

They’re also a little more high-maintenance than I expected—most brands recommend washing on a delicate cycle and air-drying. Not ideal for anyone who just tosses everything into the washer and hopes for the best (guilty).

And yes, they’re pricier than your average cotton sheet set. I paid around 40% more than I would for a decent cotton set—but I’ll get to whether it’s worth it in a minute.

Final Verdict

Would I buy them again? Honestly… yes.

The comfort level alone makes bamboo bedding a game-changer for me. It's breathable, feels great year-round, and gives that “treat yourself” energy every time I get into bed. While it’s not perfect (and definitely not cheap), I now look forward to bedtime more than ever.

If you’re on the fence, my advice is: try one set. You might not go back.
