Sunrise is a city located in the southeastern portion of the U.S. state of Florida. The city is situated in the western part of Broward County, between Fort Lauderdale and Plantation, and is part of the Miami metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, the population was 84,439.
The city was incorporated in 1961 and is nicknamed “The City of Trees” due to its abundance of parks, golf courses, and greenery.
